An infill of 2 litres of coldcast copper and graphite was used to strengthen the timber for this side table. The infill counteracts the splitting in the timber - from star shake and ring shake (both of these occurring during the life of the tree) and drying shake (which followed its removal from the bog). The bog oak has been carbon dated to nearly 3000 years old.
